What is a Fireplace Insert?

Fireplace Inserts are specially designed to fit into a pre-existing Masonry Fireplace to increase heat output, reduce pollutant output, and increase heat efficiency.  They can also drastically change the appearance of your fireplace and bring a modern element to your home.

How does a Fireplace Insert increase efficiency?

Fireplace Inserts have a firebox.  This firebox is surrounded by a steel shell.  Air from inside your home flows into the shell and radiant heat warms the air, which is then redistributed back into your home.  This prevents the majority of the heat from escaping into the masonry structure, and therefore escaping your home.

How does a Fireplace Insert change the appearance of the fireplace?

The area between the opening of the fireplace and the Insert shell is covered with a faceplate.  These faceplates can be very decorative and can really make your fireplace look better or add a modern element to your home.  Usually, you can choose between a variety of faceplates to best match your room.

There are many different types of Fireplace Inserts available for you to choose from, but which is the right Insert for you?

First, you need to narrow down which fuel types are potentially available for you to use in your home. Then, it’s just a matter of deciding on which fuel type works best for you.

If you want to utilize natural or propane gas, you can either choose between a B-Vent Insert, Direct Vent Insert, or Vent Free Insert. If wood is readily available, you may want to consider a Wood Burning Insert. If neither gas nor wood are viable options, Pellets and Pellet Inserts are a great, efficient way to heat your home.

Choose Insert Category:
Gas Fireplace Inserts can transform your inefficient and pollutant Wood Burning Fireplace into an efficient and clean-burning gas fireplace.  We have many different shapes, sizes, and styles to choose from, so your sure to find the right Natural Gas Insert for you.  In recent years, the realism of replica fireplaces has increased dramatically.  More advanced techniques are being used to create realistic looking gas logs (sometimes molded from actual wood logs), simulate burning embers, and produce the soothing aromas that we're all familiar with from a Wood Burning Fireplace.  There are a lot of factors to consider when deciding on a Gas Fireplace Insert, so call us today at (877)669-4669 and one of our knowledgeable Certified Installers will help you decide on the perfect Gas Insert for your home.

Pellet Burning Inserts
Pellet InsertsThese days, energy costs are continuing to rise and the search for more efficient fuel sources becomes more and more important every day.  Pellets are made from sawmill biproducts and are comprised of compressed sawdust.  Installing a Pellet Insert in your existing Wood Burning Fireplace can be a great way to improve efficiency and emit less pollutants into the air.  Also, it's never a bad idea to burn recycled fuel products instead of non-renewable resources.

Wood Burning Inserts (?)

If you've already got a Wood Burning Fireplace, chances are it is outdated, old, and inefficient.  You may be spending more money than you need to achieve the same heat output.  Also, you can do a lot for the Wood Burning Insertsenvironment by using a Wood Burning Insert to reduce pollutant emissions.  Installing an EPA-Certified WoodBurning Insert will ensure that your fireplace will run more efficiently andburn cleaner than your oldconfiguration.  Perhaps your old fireplace could use a facelift?  Wood Burning Inserts come in a variety of shapes, styles, and appearances so it's easy to find the right Insert for your home.  For additional information regarding Inserts, visit our Wood Burning Inserts Information Page or call us at (877)669-4669 and speak with one of our experienced and friendly Certified Installers.  We will do our best to answer any questions you may have about any Insert we sell.
