Remote Ready:
Remote Ready Direct Vent Fireplaces allow you to turn your fireplace on from the convenience of a wall switch, thermostat or hand held remote control. The Flame height adjustment still must be done from the valve on the fireplace, not from the remote device. In the event of a power outage you can still operate your remote ready fireplace.
Electric Ignition:
Electronic Ignition Direct Vent Fireplaces allow you to operate your fireplace without having a standing pilot system. This style fireplace will save you money not using a pilot system, but will not operate in the event of a power outage.
Variable Flame Height:

With the remote control you can turn your fireplace on/off and vary the flame height up and down from the comfort of your favorite chair. With most models you also have the ability to control the speed of your blower assembly as well. Like a Remote Ready unit you can use this unit during a power outage.
