A vent free firebox is NOT the same as a vent free fireplace insert. A firebox can be framed into a wall or placed into a cabinet surround. A firebox will also allow you to place any manufacturer's vent free logs into it. (Don't get it confused with a vent free fireplace that comes with a specific set of logs that cannot be replaced with any other set.) This will give you options when choosing a look - and if you ever need to replace anything, it's much easier to purchase a vent free firebox and choose a set of logs than it is to purchase a complete vent free fireplace system. Vent Free Fireboxes save you money because they are 99% efficient! All of the heat produced by your vent free firebox will be returned to your home. If you currently have a wood burning fireplace, up to 90% of the heat it produces is lost through the chimney.
